Marnus Labuschagne Omitted from Australian One-Day International Squad to Face India
Marnus Labuschagne has been dropped from the three-match ODI series against India, with in-form Queensland colleague Matt Renshaw receiving a shock call-up.
Performance Issues Lead to Exclusion
The right-hander was left out from the one-day international side after scoring just one run in his two batting efforts during the recent series against South Africa in August. Labuschagne has a top score of 47 in his previous ten ODI batting appearances.
The 31-year-old has featured in 68 one-day internationals and accumulated 1,871 runs at an average of 34.64 runs per dismissal, but will now work towards a return to the Test side in time for the Ashes starting in Perth on 21 November.
Surprise Inclusion and Other Squad Changes
Recent performances suggest of a resurgence with a score of 160 for Queensland in the domestic first-class competition this week, while Renshaw scored a hundred for the Bulls in the identical match against Tasmania.
