Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their roles in the upcoming Hunger Games series instalment, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
It has been confirmed that fan-favorite actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
A Major Return to Panem
The actors are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the roles they originated. Speculation suggests their cameos will probably be featured in a brief glimpse ahead, given that the main film series concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This marks the sixth installment in the global Hunger Games franchise.
Exploring the New Story
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a recent book by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed most of the previous films in the series.
The Plot and New Cast
The film's narrative are set 24 years before the first Hunger Games, centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is shown as a tribute in the notorious 50th Hunger Games.
The supporting roles feature several notable actors in important characters:
- Jesse Plemons steps into the role of Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes will appear as a younger version of the menacing President Snow.
What the Stars Are Doing Now & The Film's Schedule
Separately, Jennifer Lawrence stars in the film Die My Love. Josh Hutcherson is part of the successful franchise Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
Regarding the production schedule:
